wanted foam to keep sound out

we cant use foam from couch. we can use any other foam sheets, rolls . I need 2in x37 in x 41in . its for a window. my dog is afraid of the rain

If only there were some way to acquire products besides simply posting about your needs to Craigslist. Can you imagine the magical, fantasy world we would be living in if there were some kind of place you could go to get things? Actually, there’s so many different kinds of things, that in this hypothetical utopia, we might want to divide these thing-acquiring-places into categories. There’d be a home-thing-acquiring-place, a food-thing-acquiring-place, and maybe even a thing-acquiring-place devoted entirely to different types of popcorn!

Wouldn’t that be amazing?

But since we don’t have that, I suppose the next best thing would be if someone worked out some way to create some sort of internet-virtual-thing-acquiring-place. It would be like the real thing-acquiring-places, but you just wouldn’t be able to poke the things until they arrived at your home.

We should probably think of a better name than “thing-acquiring-place,” as awesome as that would be in German.

Maybe the dog could help.

Thanks for the post, Lace!

What vexes me is “Why cant <sic> they use foam from te couch?

Is the couch the only furniture?
    Has it been denuded already?
Does it exist in a non-congruent plane of quantum existence?

    O, the dugong, Hugh!

Blame it on the rain (that was falling, falling).
Blame it on the dog (afraid of the rain).
Whatever you do, the mall is not for you.
Blame it on the rain, yeah yeah,
You can blame it on the rain.

Y’all are up too early for me.

One, Punchity punch punch and thanks for holding on so long.

The box has an interesting synergy going on right now.

    I don’t think that’s a blurry dog. I think he’s just swollen with rain.

My dog is afraid of the weather.
The loud rain is giving him fits.
If I don’t get foam for my window,
The stress may just give him the…

    …Window foam!
    Need for my home!
    Rain is too noisy,
    My dog wants to roam.

    I’m cringing in the rain
    Just cringing in the rain
    What a horrible feelin’
    I’m barking again
    I’m whining at clouds
    So dark, like at night
    The fear’s in my heart
    And I’m ready to bite
    Let the stormy clouds chase
    Everyone from the place
    Get rid of the rain
I’ve a snarl on my face
    I run from the door
And I poop on the floor
    Just cringin’,
    Cringin’ in the rain.

    I recommend this internet-virtual-thing-acquiring-place.

Are you sure your dog isn’t afraid of vacuum cleaners? You may not need any foam at all.

I’ll come back in a while, after more coffee and a shower….my vision is still be a little blurry….

[canine corey] Your dog’s hearing is waaaaay more sensitive than yours. Dogs are also more sensitive than humans to changes in barometric pressure. Foam isn’t gonna solve the problem. [/canine corey]

[canine corey] Yup, I agree foam isn’t going to solve the problem, Sparky might want to try getting his puppy a thunder shirt. [canine corey]

I never heard of the thundershirt before now. Do they make them for humans? I am not a fan of the flash and boom either.

My snark seems to be broken this week, all I can think is poor puppy could probably just use some smarter owners, is the rain really the issue or are we talking thunder/lightning storms?
The Ninja Chow hates getting wet but I can’t say that the sound of rain outside has ever caused any great distress (other than refusal to leave the building for a walk). On a side note we’re really not looking forward to the Halloween fireworks explosions coming up this weekend.

Lexie hated thunderstorms, and usually looked for a place to hide – ideally, directly under me, especially if I was sleeping. She also liked to wrap herself around my head on the pillow, and tremble violently. It’s an interesting way to be awakened. She didn’t mind regular rain, though. I never tried the thundershirt, because the only thing she hated worse than thunder was clothes for dogs.

The ninja isn’t too bothered by thunder but is terrified of fireworks. I haven’t tried the thunder shirt either for the same reason, as much as she hates the rain falling on her she hates the idea of a rain coat being put on her even more. The groomer can’t even put a bow on her collar.

When we sidecarred (how do you turn a noun into a verb and then make it past-tense?) our baby’s crib, we needed some high-density foam to bring the baby’s mattress up to the level of ours. I can tell you that high-density foam ain’t cheap.

I’m guessing because Sparky’s apparently going to cover only one window with foam he’ll lock puppy in a room during storms. It’d probably be better to keep puppy with the family for comfort and companionship. They’d also not be running the risk of puppy ingesting foam out of storm-induced stress.

The word you’re looking for in German would be along the lines of “eine Dingskriegenstelle” which actually sounds fairly sane compared to some of the allegedly German words I’ve been known to make up.
