Comfortable overstuffed chair w/audubon – $30

We’ve had this in our enclosed deck and it’s in good shape with no tears, no odors, smokers or cats around. It has a drip stain from a storm that some water got in from but will clean up very nice for any room. xxxxxxxxx@hotmail.com

This endangered species of audubon was preserved thanks to the efforts of the National Audubon Society. Please remember them with your philathropic donations, because if audubons go extinct, where will we put our feet? WON’T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE FEET??

Sorry, but this is a cause I believe in very strongly, as you can tell. I’ve seen firsthand the devastation that losing a species of audubon can create, and I don’t want this to happen to the rest of the civilized world. SAVE THE AUDUBONS!

And if you’re not interested in saving the audubons (because you’re a TERRIBLE person), perhaps you’d be interested in this?

Free couch and 2 automans

free couch little stained…i usually just put a blanket over it…i got it for free on CL so i just wanted to return the favor. Two matching automans as well. Cannot deliver or help load.

Maybe free automans will tug at your heartstrings enough. No? My god, people, what do I have to do to get through to you?

The last item missing from my collection is the EXTREMELY rare French Prudential Audubon. It’s a very elusive creature that can often be found lurking near large herds of Dinning Tables. And on another note, does that picture of the couch make anyone else dizzy?

“little stained…i usually just put a blanket over it…” Other times, I don’t. Hence the stains.

I think this stems from a confusion between an ottoman and the Autobahn. Perhaps he was trying to sell two German highways?

Not that ottoman makes much more sense, despite being the correct word. I’m tempted to call people up and ask if they mean Ottoman as in the empire or the thing you put your feet on.

You know this reminds me of a great story about American ornithologist and artist John James. You know the guy. His effort to catalog every species of bird in the United States resulted in the publication of The Birds of America (1827-1838), a collection of 1,065 life-size engravings of birds found in eastern North America. It is considered a classic work in ornithology and in American art.

I should really tell you all about it sometime.

i went to wikipedia.com to see what’s the joke with audubon (I’m german) and not just was that cleared up, thanks to wikipedia I now know how* “autobahn” is spelled in english. made my day, thanks!

by the way, you’re spelling “autobahn” wrong then. I mean, you don’t say “audomadic dransmission” either, do you?

*there once once was a german game show, called the “Knoff Hoff Show”, the name referring to the wrong literal german spelling of “Know How”. only one example how obsessed we germans were with correct and wrong english spelling & translation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4bnk8c29qw

They’re imported from Contemporania. The Contemporanians developed that style back when Contemporania was part of the Audubon Empire.

Ode to a chair by Sabrina F Ahmad

    Oh Chair
    sitting there
    empty and bare…

Are you waiting for somebody to sit on you?
Are you missing someone who’s not there?

To the travel-weary tourist stuck on a plane
You’re a sight he never wants to see again
To the tired journeyman, you’re a heaven-sent gift
Just looking at you gives his spirits a lift.

Chair, do you enjoy being sat upon
    day by day
    by people who don’t care?

    Chair, you’re a mystery
Or maybe a part of history
    A symbol of authority
    An object of utility…

Or…then again, maybe just a chair

“i got it for free on CL so i just wanted to return the favor.”

A rarely used meaning of the word ‘favor’, indicating a heartfelt and lasting curse on you, your family, your friends, their families, neighbours, pets and anyone else within a 20-mile radius of that couch.

My spellcheck doesn’t like ‘favor’ and suggests favour, faro, Fargo, farer or Faber.

    Rub audubon,
    Three hens and a capon,
And how do you think they be?
    They’re butchered, and baked,
    The drumsticks they take.
    Turned out, tasty all three.

You know, when I was on the bring on my teens, I loved Automan. It was short-lived, but its Tron-esque theme married with the buddy cop genre appealed to both my love of action and all things geek.

Now I can get not one, but two Automans. Free! I don’t know if I really have the room for a pair of Chuck Wagners in my apartment, but I think I’d be willing to make it work, just as long as I don’t have to take them for walks too often.

They’re difficult to house train, but it can be done. Just remember to be firm when they have accidents and let them outside as soon as they start whining.
