How to Link your Google Plus Profile
Here is how to link your google plus profile to your blog, a contributor blog or youtube. First and foremost you have to setup a Google Plus profile. Linking your posts to a Google Plus profile will show up your picture next to search results. This is a very nice way of getting more traffic and more click throughs.
The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” is very true in this case. Our eyes are attracted to the picture and we tend to click on the link.

How to Get your Google Plus Profile Link
Go to http://plus.google.com/me and setup a profile. Make sure you have a good headshot.
How to find your Google Plus Profile Link
If you are not sure if you have a Google Plus Profile setup, just visit the Google Plus Profile http://plus.google.com/me page.
Okay lets lay this out in a step by step manner.
Step 1
Setup your Google+ profile. Add a picture of yourself to it. Make sure your name s the same as the name wyou will be using in the posts (author name).
Step 2
Link your name or Author name one each piece of content to the author page or the about page (if it is a single author website).
Step 3
Link your Author page or About Me page to your Google Plus profile. For this you can make use of a plugin I use. Or you can add a tag manually – rel=”author”

Create a link to your Google+ profile from your webpage, like this:
<a href=”[profile_url]?rel=author”>Google</a>
Replace [profile_url] with the your Google+ profile URL, like this:
<a href=”https://plus.google.com/109412257237874861202?
rel=author”>Google</a>
Your link must contain the ?rel=author parameter. If it’s missing, Google won’t be able to associate your content with your Google+ profile.
Step 4
Edit your Google Plus profile, navigate to the contributor section and add your blog.
Add a reciprocal link back from your profile to the site(s) you just updated.
- Edit the Contributor To section.
- In the dialog that appears, click Add custom link, and then enter the website URL.
- If you want, click the drop-down list to specify who can see the link.
- Click Save.

Step 6

Step 7
Use Rich Snippets testing tool to test your web page(s)
Visit http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
Address any errors if thrown up on this page.

That’s it. It is now time to sit back and wait. It can take a few days, a few week s or months for your image to show up in the SERPS. There is a possibility that after doing all this, you still will not be able to notice anything.
